Squares/Rectangles Finishing Class - 9/26/26 9:00am-12:00pm

This is for our Square/Rectangle Ornament finishing class on Saturday, September 26th, 2026 from 9:00am-12:00pm.

Do you love stitching but haven’t figured out finishing yet? Our square/rectangle ornament/bag charm finishing class is the perfect place to start! In this class you will learn how to transform a 4 inch round canvas into an ornament- we promise to keep it simple! 

This class will run approximately 2.5-3 hours and you will learn the following skills:

• Cutting a canvas & mat board
• Lacing cookies
• Using clear thread to sew cookies together
• Creating custom cording
• Attaching cording & a date charm

Each participant will be provided with all supplies & tools needed, but must provide the following items:

• A blocked (if needed) & completely stitched square or rectangle canvas (canvases must be larger than about 3" by 3" and smaller than about 5" by 5", contact us with any questions!)
• A piece of backing fabric (please bring an approximately 7” square of non-stretch cotton fabric, such as quilting cotton)
• Four skeins of DMC Embroidery Floss (you should bring TWO of each of two colors- for example: two of the same pink and two of the same blue, for a total of 4 skeins; available at Michael’s or Hobby Lobby- please make sure it is embroidery floss and not pearl cotton)

Finishing classes are limited in size and take place at our studio in Suffield, CT. Our studio is located on the second floor and does not have an elevator. We can’t wait to have you!
